Abstract

JavaFX is a new programming language from Sun that runs on the JVM. It makes creating Rich Internet Applications easy. But it's more than that. JavaFX is both simpler than Java and more powerful at the same time. Yet it's compatible with Java. It has the fresh, elegant feel of a new language - but retains the benefits of a robust, proven platform (Java, that is).

In this presentation, I'll provide an overview, placing JavaFX in its proper context, both as a programming language and as an AJAX platform. I'll also provide a number of code demos, so you can see JavaFX in action.
