Architecting Applications using Apache Wicket

Abstract

Explore the benefits and challenges that a component-based Web framework such as Apache Wicket provides for your development team in the development and deployment of applications. Wicket allows for complete separation of functional elements within markup code. This session addresses the basics of Wicket along with how to use Wicket to reduce complexity and create more readable code. Attendants will leave learning how to: * Apply a streamlined path to developing a Wicket application; * Make use of the full lifecycle of Wicket; * Translate Web MVC knowledge into a simple and easy to use component framework; * Understand the major differences between Wicket and JSF; * Build a simple but real-world applications using many of the basic components and techniques
